Deb McCarroll’s paintings are meditations on the relationship between humanity and our fragile planet, employing elemental materials, such as rain, snow and earth, to examine the ephemeral nature of civilizations and the erosive and enduring quality of nature.
This is a harmonious blend of rounded and linear forms that embrace the role of chance in the creative process. Each work straddles organic and geometric motifs, employing experimental techniques to articulate imagery, resulting in a combination of active gestural brushwork, organic practices and deliberate, architectural structure.
